We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Career Development Practitioner to join our Career Development Services team. Working alongside the Director of Career Services, you will deliver a high-quality career counselling service and a wide range of career development programmes for students in Years 7–13.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about helping young women discover their strengths, explore their options, and plan confidently for life beyond school.

Ngā kawenga | Key responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Career guidance and counselling
• Offer individual career guidance and counselling to students across all year levels, using a range of appropriate tools and techniques
• Meet the vocational and tertiary information needs of students, and assist with applications for scholarships, tertiary institutions, jobs, and exchanges
• Plan and deliver career development programmes throughout the school from Years 7–13
• Plan and deliver targeted workshops and specific career events
Promotion and awareness
• Raise the profile of careers throughout the school and wider community
• Provide information at year level assemblies and assist at the Options Information Evening
• Assist in organising presentations by liaison officers and career speakers
• Keep relevant staff informed of developments in careers and training courses in their areas
• Liaise with staff to provide curriculum-linked career opportunities
Administration and professional practice
• Maintain up-to-date records of all career counselling sessions in Synergetic and future School platform
• Ensure programmes and procedures comply with national guidelines and school policies
• Keep resources current and contribute to the annual budget process
• Stay current with professional practice through ongoing reading and training
Desired Skills and Experience

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, parents, and tertiary providers
