Diocesan School for Girls is looking for an experienced swim instructor to lead our baby and toddler programme. This is a senior role for someone who runs a calm, structured class, knows how to bring parents into the learning, and is ready to mentor newer instructors throughout the year.
Job Description
Mō te tūranga: About the role
• Teach babies and toddlers aged 3 months – 3 years in our heated onsite pool
• Deliver structured classes with clear objectives, skill progression, and a strong water safety focus
• Engage both child and parent in every lesson
• Train and support new instructors as part of this senior position
Ngā hāora: Hours
• Saturday mornings 7:30am – 12:30pm (core hours)
• Optional Monday & Wednesday mornings 8:30am – 11am
• Additional afternoon preschool and school-age classes available Monday – Thursday and Saturday mornings if you'd like more hours
Desired Skills and Experience

• Solid experience teaching swim classes for babies and toddlers (3 months – 3 years)
• A structured teaching approach with a clear focus on progression and water safety
• Genuine warmth and the ability to engage both child and parent
• Leadership experience or a willingness to mentor newer instructors
