We are seeking an innovative, research-informed Director of Wellbeing, starting Term 1, 2027, to join our exceptional team. In this new full-time role, you'll have the opportunity to lead the development and delivery of a bespoke leading-edge wellbeing education curriculum, drawing on evidence-based frameworks designed specifically for our students, spanning Year 0–13. You will do this in a future-focused environment where student wellbeing is the foundation for excellence. You will understand the developmental landscape of young women and be committed to holistic wellbeing, including Christian spirituality and Te Ao Māori.
Job Description
Mō te tūranga: About the role:
• Provide strategic leadership for student wellbeing curriculum, working closely with the Deputy Principal and a cross-curricular team
• Design and deliver a bespoke Year 0–13 wellbeing programme grounded in evidence-based frameworks, including Positive Psychology
• Teach engaging, age-appropriate wellbeing lessons across Junior and Senior School
• Build staff capability through professional development and mentoring, embedding wellbeing as a visible part of school culture
We offer students dual qualification pathways with both NCEA and the International Baccalaureate.
Desired Skills and Experience
Ngā pūkenga me whai: We are looking for someone with:
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Education, Psychology, Health, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification (e.g. Positive Psychology, Counselling, or Wellbeing Education) is desirable
• A current (or eligible) Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand practising certificate
• Demonstrated school leadership experience, including developing or leading wellbeing, pastoral care, or positive education
• Deep understanding of child and adolescent development and the wellbeing needs of young women; experience in a girls' or single-sex school is highly regarded
• Strong curriculum design skills, mental health literacy, and trauma-aware, culturally responsive practice
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the creativity, confidence, and organisation to lead a complex, multi-stranded role
